All of Murphy’s K-2 students took place in the annual Thanksgiving Feast today. Thanks to all the parents for making it happen!
We are excited to now have 60 iPads in circulation at Murphy. These are a great tool to help with student engagement and we are just beginning to tap into the many ways the technology can help our students create. Here you see Mrs. Chouinard’s class working on a project in the room. My ultimate goal would be for every Murphy student to have their own iPad or laptop to use throughout the day. Until then, we are working out a system to ensure every classroom has the opportunity to use the ones we do have.
On Friday Murphy’s Students of the Month were able to eat a private lunch with me. Pizza, juice and ice cream sandwiches were provided for all of the students. Students also received a Student of the Month Certificate and a Student of the Month Magnet. We’re extremely proud of our students who were selected by their classroom teachers for outstanding effort, academic achievement, and being great role models for Murphy students. Great effort boys and girls!
A couple things to celebrate this past week at Murphy. First we had a terrific Halloween parade. It was great to see all the parents at the school lining the hallways. Also, the staff REALLY appreciated the amazing food spread the PTC and families provided for the conference nights. I had never seen anything like that! Thanks so much to everyone who contributed their time and effort to making sure our teachers were well fed.
